Dermal Fillers – post op instructions

Immediately after the treatment, there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. The inconvenience is temporary and generally disappears in a day or two. If the inconvenience continues or if other reactions occur, please contact the clinic.

Apply an ice pack to the treated area, this will reduce the initial swelling.

If you are having lip treatment the initial swelling may last longer. It can last for about a week and the lips may look somewhat uneven during this time, therefore, the result directly after the treatment should not be seen as the final result.

Avoid touching the treated area within 6 hours following treatment. After that, light make-up can be applied and the area can be gently washed with soap and water.

Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. solarium and sunbathing) or extreme cold.

If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the injections could contribute to another eruption of cold sores. Should this happen please contact your practitioner immediately so that treatment can be provided if necessary.

If you are using aspirin or any similar medication, be aware that these may increase the risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection site.

Since the dermal filler is absorbed, the correction effect reduces over time. Many people choose to be treated again within 6 months of the original treatment.

Botox – FAQ

What problems does it solve?

Botox concentrates on facial expression lines. These are the lines that appear when you carry out any facial expressions. Such as frowning, raising your eyebrows or smiling. It does not eliminate static lines – dermal fillers would be more suited for this.

How can I get it?

Simply book an appointment with botox hertfordshire  for 30 minutes and start the process of good ageing.

Does it hurt?

It is a very comfortable procedure. The needles are very small and only just go under the surface of the skin. In addition the procedure is very quick.

How much does it cost?

We are doing a special deal for 3 areas (which includes – forehead, frown and eyes) at £235.

Botox – consent form

Here is the consent form I use for my patients undergoing botox in Hertfordshire.

Treatment Consent Form

This treatment uses a diluted form of botulinum toxin type A. It is administered by injection at specific points on the face. The treatment gradually takes effect over a week to ten days. After two or three weeks it will be working fully. The effect of treatment lasts on average, for three to four months but can last for up to six months in some people. This treatment is for an improvement not perfection. As static wrinkles due to skin thinning will not be improved by botulinum toxin, other types of treatment may be required. Each treatment will be charged for individually, according to the areas treated.

The areas that we are proposing to treat are: FOREHEAD, FROWN, CROWS FEET, HYPERHYDROSIS, CORNERS OF MOUTH, UPPER LIP, BUNNY LINES, CHIN, JOWELS,

Risks and side effects

Allergies and side effects to Botox®/Vistabel®/Dysport® /Azzalure® treatment are extremely rare. The results of treatment cannot be guaranteed. Most people find that the injections cause only mild discomfort. Immediately after the treatment, there may be mild swelling, which usually disappears after 30 mins. Afterwards, the injection site can be slightly red for about one hour. In a small number of cases a bruise may occur. Rare side effects include: headache, nausea and flu-like symptoms. In very rare cases patients may also develop antibodies or allergies to the toxin, experience double-vision and watering eyes.

If you are pregnant or a nursing mother or sufferer from neuromuscular diseases such as Bells palsy or myasthenia gravis, treatment is not recommended.  Please mention any allergies you may have especially allergies to eggs. For treatment of the upper face, such as frown and forehead, there is a very low risk of brow ptosis (drooping of the eyebrow) or eyelid ptosis (drooping of the eyelid), which completely reverses with time.

For treatment in the lower areas of the face, as the treatment involves the temporary relaxation of the muscles, your facial movements will change and feel different. For example, with treatment of muscles relating to the lips there is a strong likelihood that control of your lips will feel different, i.e. you may be unable or find it harder to drink from a straw, to whistle, find it difficult applying lipstick in your usual way or you may need to adjust the way to drink from a glass as you will be unable to tense your treated lip to the same extent as you could before treatment. It can take some time to get used to a new sensation but the effect will reverse over time and you will return to your normal movement.

  • I have been fully informed of the risks and possible consequences involved in the above treatment. I hereby authorise the practitioner to administer this treatment to me.
  • I AM HAVING THIS TREATMENT FOR MEDICAL REASONS.

Tear Trough – now we can treat this

Please see below an excerpt from a recent article by The Mail Online, by a reporter who undertook this treatment.

The revolutionary new treatment that banishes your eyebags in just TEN minutes

They say the eyes are the windows to the soul. And I’d always regarded mine as my best feature until two distinct ledges seemed to form under my windows.

Some days my eyes simply looked a little puffy, but throw in a few late nights and I soon looked as if I’d gone a couple of rounds with Mike Tyson.

My eyebags were caused by a combination of bad genes and lifestyle. An abundance of nights spent dancing and drinking, coupled with copious amounts of caffeine, had contributed. As for genetics, I had my father to blame for that.

Then I heard about a new, revolutionary ‘tear trough treatment’, which promises not only to make bags and dark circles disappear, but to do so in just ten minutes. ‘It knocks seven years off,’ one review stated.

In just ten minutes?

Less painful than a bikini wax?

‘The treatment works on the depressions that run from the nose and around the under-eye area,’ he says. ‘They get more noticeable as the skin sags with age, and fat accumulates. While the surgical removal of eyebags gets rid of the fatty tissue, it doesn’t conceal dark circles.’

This procedure, however, does. It involves carefully injecting a filler called Perlane above the bone of the eye socket, which is massaged into the pocket beneath the eye and around the fatty tissue, plumping up hollows, concealing dark circles and  blending into the cheekbones.

A lifetime of abundance can sometimes lead to awful eyebags, but a new treatment promises to zap them in just ten minutes

The results are instant and last nine to 12 months. Side-effects are mild bruising and swelling but at £500, the treatment costs a fraction of the price of surgery. And unlike an operation, if you don’t like the results, a second injection simply washes the filler away.

Surely it can’t be that simple? It certainly seemed worth a try. Dr Milojevic explained that I might feel a slight pinch as the needle went in but it would only last a split second — and he was right.

‘The filler contains anaesthetic that gets to work straight away,’ he said. I braced myself for the first injection, but before I knew it, it was over. I’ve experienced more discomfort having a bikini wax.
As the left eye wasn’t so bad, it needed less filler. Minutes later, I was done.

‘Can I look now?’ I said excitedly, like a child about to open her first present on Christmas morning.

I was astounded — my eyebags had virtually vanished. The last few years of juggling a busy career, hectic home and social life had been wiped off my face.

There were a few pin pricks and very slight bruising, which worsened the next morning but was easy to cover with make up and had disappeared by the  third day.

I wouldn’t hesitate to have the treatment again — life without my eyebags feels so much lighter.

What areas can botox treat?

As you can see from the image below, we can treat a wide range of areas and problems with botox.

At your consultation appointment you should be given time to discuss your concerns and which areas you would like to be treated. The practitioner then would discuss suitable options with you, their pros and cons and what is best suited to gain the result you desire.

When using botox in hertfordshire, Dr Singh varies the dose and concentration depending on which areas you would like treated. As a genertal rule the top third of the face you have many large muscules, so it would be advantageous to allow the botox to spread.

In the lower face area, the muscles are much samller and interconnected. Therefore you would not want the botox to spread and effect neghbouring muscles from the ones you are targetting.

Dermal fillers in hertfordshire for cheeks

The cheeks define the central region of your face, however they can effect the lower face too.

Many patients are unhappy with the loss of volume from their cheeks. Some patients are also concerned with the lower part of the face where folds and creases may appear.

Both of these problems can be eliminated by adding volume to the cheeks. Due to the loss of volume in this region and gravity, the effects of this can be seen in the lower part of the face.

A good way to see what effect filling the cheeks would have, would be to lie down flat on a  bed and look in the mirror. As the cheeks naturally regain their volume you can judge what the result would look like and also see what effect filling the cheeks would have on the lower face too.

Dr Harry Singh has been carrying out dermal fillers hertfordshire since 2002 and works from aesthetics in Stevenage. You can call him on 01438 300111 to book a FREE consultation.
