Botox addiction

Dr Singh who runs his botox clinic in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, in his latest blog shares his thoughts on botox addiction.

One of the commonest questions asked by new botox patients, is whether they will be addicted to botox or not. Unlike certain drugs, botox does not cause addiction. You cannot get addicted to botox.

However what does happen, is that since the results of the botox are so good, its very hard to go back to the fine lines and wrinkles that were present before the botox treatments. Many patients are regular patients for their botox treatments and it is rare for someone to have the botox injection just once and thats it.

Saying this, we do have a small majority of patients that like the frozen look and sometimes can over do it with the botox treatment. There have been certain circumstances where I have turned away botox patients because there would be no beneficial effect from them undergoing more botox injections.

You should not require or need to have the botox treatments more frequently than 4 months.

Botox – how to promote

Dr Singh who runs his botox clinic in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, in his latest blog talks about botox and various ways to market it.

The first place to start promoting botox treatments is within the clinical premises. This can be done by leaflets/information on botox, botox posters and before and after pictures of botox treatments administered.

A valuable resource available is your team. Get them to experience the botox procedure and your patients will be able to see the results achievable with botox.

Next I would consider mentioning your botox treatments on your website, same again illustrated with before and after pictures.

Then you could consider external marketing. This will include things such as newspaper ads, botox leaflets.

A great way is to build a strategic alliance with a local business. You want to target where you would expect your botox patients to visit. The ideal places would be beauty salons and hairdressers. They will attract people that care about their image and these would be ideal and would be interested in your botox procedures.

Next you want to encourage your botox patients that are happy with the results to refer their family and friends to you. Some patients will openly talk about their botox experience, whilst others wont even tell their partner!

Botox requirements

Dr Singh who runs his botox clinic in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, in his latest blog shares his thoughts on the clinical set up for a botox clinic.

As many people know only medically qualified professionals are allowed to administer botox injections, such as dentists, doctors and medical nurses.

Once they have attended an approved botox course they will apply for cosmetic insurance.

In addition there are a number of factors that a botox practitioner needs to consider when setting up their botox clinic, such as:

Sharps collection – the botox needles must be disregarded into a suitable container and collected by a recognised provider

Clinical waste collection -during the botox treatment, there will be some clinical waste produced that needs to be suitably treated and collected

Medical emergency kit

Suitable clinical premises

Consent forms

Medical history forms

Camera for before and after pictures for the botox

Portfolio of treatments undertaken by the clinician

Post operative advice after the botox treatment

When considering a botox clinic, the practitioner needs to look at the whole of the patient journey, from the moment they contact the botox clinic, the botox treatment itself and the after care.
